Hotshot
Expedited urgent freight when a load can’t wait.
When hotshot is the answer
When the load can’t wait for tomorrow’s lane.
A plant is down. A jobsite stalled. A part flew out of a competitor’s warehouse two states away and you need it on the floor by morning. Hotshot is dedicated, direct, and driven straight through — one driver, one trailer, one delivery.
- Dispatch 24/7 · driver typically rolling within 2 hours of confirmation
- 1, 2, or 3-driver teams · continuous drive on coast-to-coast runs
- Pickup truck + gooseneck or 26′ box · skip the full-trailer wait
- Driver phone shared on dispatch · live ETA, no portal logins

Why Comet for hotshot
The dispatcher picks up the phone. Always.
Hotshot is a phone-call business — and we still run it that way. No portal queue, no “we’ll get back to you,” no tier-one screener. Call dispatch, get pricing in minutes, get a driver moving the same hour. That’s the trade-off you pay extra for, and it’s the only one that matters when the clock’s already ticking.

Common questions
Before you call, in case it helps.
-
How fast can a hotshot roll?
Hotshot is dispatched 24/7 for time-critical freight, and a driver is often moving within about two hours of a confirmed load. Call for the fastest read on current capacity.
-
What size loads suit hotshot?
Smaller, urgent freight that fits a 1-, 2-, or 3-driver pickup-and-deliver run direct from origin to destination — no consolidation stops, no terminal dwell.
-
Is hotshot the same as expedited truckload?
They overlap. Hotshot usually runs on smaller trucks and gooseneck trailers for lighter loads; for heavier urgent freight we’ll quote expedited truckload instead. Tell us the weight and deadline and we’ll pick the right one.
